"What I learned about Motherhood by being an adoptive parent"
by Kristen Howerton
Reviewed by Lindsay Hatcher, Gladney Caseworker
Being a mother to both biological and adopted children has given Kristen Howerton a unique perspective on motherhood. In her article, What I learned about Motherhood by Being an Adoptive Parent, Ms. Howerton discusses seven points that guide she and husband Mark, as they parent their four children.
As an adoption caseworker and parent, I found Ms. Howerton's article to provide simple truths that we can apply to parenthood in general.
In addition to Kristen's article, she is an avid blogger. Her blog, Rage Against the Minivan, zeros in on relatable topics for the 2012 mom - from dealing with inadequacies in parenthood, discussions on what is not so great about parenting, and being a working mom, to the struggles and joys of a toddler joining the family.
