Brighter Futures For Children - Superkids
Gladney's Brighter Futures for Children Fund provides an international children's aid framework for advancing our mission through donor-supported programs — to improve the lives of these at-risk children and help alleviate disturbing orphanage conditions in Asia, Eastern Europe, Africa and Latin America — all the countries where Gladney currently has established relationships.

One of Gladney's Focus Areas is Quality-of-Life Assistance. Superkids, founded and managed by Janet Fink, sends pediatric therapists (physical, occupational, speech, and play) to orphanages around the world. Our goal is to help orphans better their quality of life and make it easier to place them into permanent homes. With the use of specialized therapy toys, we can teach care givers how to strengthen children's gross and fine motor muscles, improve their sensory integration, and build self-esteem. Our goal is to make therapy rewarding for both child and care giver! Keep up to date with the latest information by viewing our blog.

China Superkids
Our China program targets orphanages in Shanghai, Hunan, and Tianjin. Children living in these orphanages range in age from infant to teen and their medical conditions range from healthy to seriously ill. Most of the special needs children have mild and routinely correctable problems such as club foot, cleft palate, and esotropia. More serious problems include cerebral palsy and spina bifida. Because of institutional living and/or medical conditions, most of these children show delays in motor and/or speech development.
Ethiopia Superkids
Our Ethiopia program will focus on early intervention programs for very young children with disabilities, and life-skills programs for teens aging out of orphanage care. Another important part of the Superkids program is teaching care givers and local volunteers how to work therapeutically with disabled orphans.
Waiting Children
Special needs orphans are also called "waiting children." Their age and medical conditions make them difficult to place. They wait longer to find homes. Many are never adopted. Superkids wants to raise awareness about these beautiful children. Through physical and emotional therapy and care giver training, we hope to strengthen their bodies and minds while they wait for homes. Most importantly, we hope to improve their chances of finding permanent families.
