Humanitarian Aid - Russia
Bright Futures Camp
Gladney will be hosting the 5th annual Bright Futures Camp Summer 2006. The camp involves bringing over and hosting 20 Russian orphans between the ages of 7 and 15. The children stay in Gladney approved host families and attend daily camp activities.
During the 1st Bright Futures Camp, Gladney staff had a great week with the children, caregivers and host families and made many new young friends. The children had a busy schedule visiting and attending Gladney's Grand Opening events, Billy Bob's Texas, Cowtown Coliseum Rodeo, the Dallas Zoo, the Science Place, the Palace of Wax and Country Critters (a working farm). The children also had their haircut at a salon, had professional pictures taken and also had fun at Build-A-Bear.

Azarovsky Orphanage Remodeling Project
During the Summer of 2000, Gladney International conducted a humanitarian aid drive to raise funds for the Azarovsky Orphanage remodeling project in Kaluga, Russia. The funds raised by Gladney Russia families and friends completed the remodeling of the library and also purchased shelves and books. A plaque in the library recognizes that Gladney families and friends provided the library for the children. When giving tours of the orphanage, the director, Vladimir, always makes a point to honor Gladney and our wonderful families. Our heartfelt thanks go out to all the Gladney families and friends that made the library project possible. We also want to thank all of our families for their humanitarian aid donations in the Vologda region and all of the clothes, shoes, medicine, etc. that is carried over by all of our families to each of our regions. We have also provided afghans to many of the children thanks to one of our Gladney family's efforts.

Another Gladney-Supported Orphanage
We have selected an orphanage that we believe deserves Gladney and Gladney families support. It is located in one of the regions we work in. We have selected this orphanage from among the many for several reasons. First, it has undertaken a program of building "apartments" for its resident children. They believe that the family style of living provides a better growth environment for the children.
