Gladney currently has several projects we are working on at this time including the purchasing, shipping and installation of several pieces of playground equipment at the Gladney Foster Care Center for the older children and at the orphanages some of you may have visited. (See photos of one of the playgrounds to be replaced.) We have received pricing on five playgrounds. The cost, including shipping, will run in the neighborhood of $75,000. Take a look at our fundraising thermometer to see how much more we need to raise. In the container, we will be including other humanitarian aid (educational toys, clothing, books, etc.) that we will purchase and ship along with this equipment, depending on how much money is raised above and beyond the needed amount. In the entire world, there is but one priceless commodity that ensures the world's future . . . children. Gladney feels it is important to promote the well being of Ethiopian children and to make their lives better in the
process, therefore have undertaken the following aid projects:

• Read the 2007 Annual Report on Humanitarian Aid. View the report.
• Funded the Ethiopian Books for Children and Educational Foundation, in their quest to improve literacy and create a culture of reading among the children of Ethiopia.
• Funded the annual salaries of four orphanage caregivers in one of the government-runorphanages.
• Provided two new washing machines for one of the orphanages.
• Purchased a DVD player along with several childrens’ DVD titles and delivered to one of the orphanages.
• Providing soccer balls for the children in the orphanages.
• Provided pediatric scales for one of the orphanages.
• Provided new clothing and shoes for the orphans.
• Gladney, along with the help of Cook Fort Worth Children’s Medical Center sent seven infant warmers, three incubators, and two defibrillators to several health care facilities in Ethiopia.
