The Gladney Center for Adoption is pleased to reopen our Bulgaria Adoption Program. Parents will make only two short trips averaging five to eight days each.

The majority of children available for adoption in Bulgaria have an olive complexion, brown eyes, brown hair and are of Roma ethnicity or Turkish descent; however, many of the Bulgarian children are fair haired with light skin. Most of the children available for international adoption from Bulgaria were relinquished or abandoned at birth and are now in the care of the government.
Gladney has partnered with an accredited Bulgarian Agency. The agency will receive dossiers from Gladney and then submit the dossiers to the Ministry of Justice, which is the branch of the government that processes the adoptions. Dossiers are reviewed by an International Adoption Committee comprised of a representative from 7 different branches of the government that deal with social services. The child's referral is assigned by the government of Bulgaria. Not only does adopting internationally assist families in achieving their dream of parenthood, but also fulfills the dream of children in orphanages who await the love of a family.
