Hague Training
The Hague Convention protects children and families against the risk of unregulated adoptions abroad and ensures that intercountry adoptions are made in the best interest of the children. The Convention also protects against unethical, unlawful and inhumane adoption practices among adoption providers.
The Gladney Center for Adoption is proud to announce a new collaboration with NCFA to offer Hague-Compliant Adoption Training. NCFA's web-based 10 hour Hague Training Course, The InterCountry Journey, meets all Hague requirements for core courses. This training resource is available to Gladney families and to families working with other adoption agencies.
To comply with the Hague guidelines, families must complete at least 10 clock hours of training and provide documentation of completion to Gladney or their adoption agency. NCFA's 10 hour training will be supplemented by region-specific training and elective courses provided by Gladney. Offering pre- and post-adoption education is part of the Family Services commitment to bring together parent education and training, Home Study services, counseling and support resources to enhance the lives of our international adoptive families. In addition to Hague Training, Family Services also offers training and education on a range of interesting topics through our video training resources and seminars.
