China Adoption Process

Once prospective families are ready to start their China International Adoption Process with Gladney, they will complete their adoption paperwork:
- Gladney Application
- Pathways Training if adopting a child over the age of 2
- Adoption Home Study
- Dossier (Gladney recommends AmP Dossiers)
The adoption process in China is managed by a central authority, the China Center of Adoption Affairs (CCAA). Accredited agencies in the United States work directly with the CCAA to help you create your family through adoption.
Our China program staff will lead you through the process of putting together the documents required by the different authorities.
In the China Traditional program, once your dossier is officially received by CCAA, you will receive a "log-in-date" and after a waiting period, the CCAA will match you with your child. In the China Waiting Child program, your Gladney caseworker will help match your family by considering profiles of children currently available to be adopted. In the China Waiting Child program your family can begin considering some profiles as soon as your adoption home study is complete. For other child profiles you may have to wait until your dossier has been submitted to the CCAA and you have received a "log-in-date". Families in the China Waiting Child program can be matched in a significantly shorter time period than the China Traditional program. Please speak to a Gladney representative to find out current time frames for these prgrams.
Gladney staff are committed to assisting families interested in adopting from China. To learn more about adopting from China, please request one of Gladney's comprehensive Adoption Information Packets. Make your request on-line or by calling 1-800-INT-ADOP.
